Buying a reliable used car is important in order to help you save money. You need to find reliable used car that doesn't need many repairs. Before you decide to purchase a used car then you need to take it for a test drive. Make sure to also have a mechanic look at the car to tell you what condition it is and any repairs that it may need in the near future.
You want to buy a car that has been properly taken care of in the past and has had regular oil changes along with other yearly maintenance. You can ask the current owner if the oil has been changed on a regular basis. Ask about any other repairs that the car has needed in the past.
One of the questions that you need to ask the owner of the car is how long that they have had the car. You also need to ask the owner where the car was purchased at and why they decided to purchase it. Ask them why they are selling the car and how come they don't need it anymore. Most owners will be happy to answer those questions without hesitation if they have nothing to hide.
1. One thing about buying a reliable used car is to see how well it has been taken care of in the past. You need to ask the owner if she or he has any receipts for services that has been done on the car and if there any extra warranty plans that have been purchased for it. You want receipts on everything that has been done to the car. If the owner doesn't have any receipts or if can't tell you which shop they used to get the oil changed then be concerned.
2. How many miles does the car have? You want to buy a reliable used car that has low amounts of miles on it. It is a good idea to buy a used car from a senior citizen since some senior citizens don't drive very much and they usually keep a car in excellent condition.
3. Does the car look good on the inside? Make sure that the power window switches and everything works properly. Look for any soda stains on the inside of the car. If the car has any seat covers over it then make sure to take off the seat covers when you test drive it to make sure that they aren't covering up a huge soda pop stain.
4. Inspect the car on the outside. Does it have many dents in it? Does the car look like it has been in a few car accidents before? If so, ask the owner about any accidents that it may have been. Don't be concerned if it is just a few bender fenders. Does the car look like it has been repainted? If so, ask the owner why it was painted. Perhaps they couldn't stand the color of it or the paint got faded due to the sun over the years.
5. Before you buy any used car then you really should do a carfax report on it from www.carfax.com since it will tell you additional information about the car such as the history. It will tell you how many owners it has had along with other information.
