Some of you might remember Lauren Conrad from The Hills, but did you know she has a DIY series on YouTube called Lauren Conrad's Crafty Creations? However, her latest DIY project has now gotten everybody's attention, and not in a good way.

In the latest clip, Conrad demonstrates "a great way to display vintage books or slightly used books" to create "a unique storage space," also known as a box. This box will have the spines of several books glued to one side of it, making it look, to the untrained eye, like a line of books rather than a unique storage space. Unfortunately, that also means destroying the books.

Once word of Conrad's book destroying shenanigans went up, incensed bibliophiles got so pissed that she was forced to take the original clip down (Buzzfeed has a copy of the clip), but this gif below pretty much sums it all up.

And Slate managed to get a hold of author Lemony Snicket, whose books were destroyed in the video, and he made the following statement:
"It has always been my belief that people who spend too much time with my work end up as lost souls, drained of reason, who lead lives of raving emptiness and occasional lunatic violence. What a relief it is to see this documented."
Perhaps she should've picked something less readable, we doubt anybody would be as upset if she wrecked an outdated encyclopedia of venereal diseases.
