Imagine spending the last four years training for your chance at Olympic gold, only to see your dreams come crashing down in a single second? So it comes to no surprise that S. Korean fencer Shin A Lam is still pretty pissed off at the International Olympic Community.

Earlier this week, Shin made headlines once word spread about the IOC's shoddy ruling over her duel with Germany's Britta Heidermann. The inconsolable fencer had refused to leave the piste after a judge ruled that time had actually not expired (although the recorded footage proved otherwise). The decision caused her to lose her spot at the semifinal match.
In an obvious cop out, fencing's governing body offered to award Lam a "special medal" recognizing her "aspiration to win and respect for the rules." In response, Lam promptly told them they could take their special medal and shove it:

"It does not make me feel better because it's not an Olympic medal. I don't accept the result because I believe it was a mistake."
The Korean team filed a protest to no avail, stating that they "can't agree with the decision of the referee."
