Hedge-fund manager Daniel Shak has abruptly withdrew his lawsuit against his ex-wife Beth after trying to wrangle away part of her estimated $1 million designer shoe collection.

Pro poker player Beth Shak had testified that her husband knew and signed off on all her shoe purchases and the staggering amount of stilettoes she had kept in her closet. This revelation pretty much sank his argument that she'd been hoarding the shoes.

And to ramp up the drama, Beth even blamed her ex-husband's neglect for her serious shoe addiction, saying "There was such a lack of emotion and love in my relationship, that I filled that void with shopping. I was shopping endlessly, I couldn't stop."
I wanted love and emotional support and affection, but there was nothing. He would say, ‘Stop! Get away from me!' I tried to keep track of what I was buying, but I lost control.
Seeing as the couple has been divorced for three years, some speculate that Daniel Shak's lawsuit might have something to do with an earlier report about having recently lost a whole pile of money.
