Nike, never short of creating great commercials is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Title IX and it's using empowerment to sell us their stuff. We don't care, because this is really one heck of a commercial.

The ad honors women athletes for facing up to sexism, and breaking barriers and taking on The Man. The spot features boxer Marlen Esparza, marathoner Joan Benoit Samuelson and basketball star Lisa Leslie.

It shows the dark ages of women athletics and when women and sports weren't supposed to mix. The commercial, is a must watch. Hit the jump for it:
