When we stepped into the Belfry Salon at The Troika, we didn't expect to get to know Aesop's latest product range as up close and personal as we had imagined. Aesop's latest introduction was their Black Label hair care range - the perfect addition to their family of skincare products to mark their 25th year in the business.

Mingling among the guests was Melbourne-based Suzanne Santos, whose calming and eloquent persona was highly reflective of Aesop's brand nature. Santos is Aesop's product advocate, who has journeyed with the brand since their 1987 beginnings, and travels the world to oversee Aesop's product introduction into new and existing markets.

"We take pride as a company in communicating with customers across all cultures in a forthright, open and intelligent manner that does not mislead or create false expectations." Santos says, "At Aesop, we have always been driven and inspired by quality ingredients and product content, and it is this enthusiasm that I enjoy sharing with our clients."

We gathered around Santos as she proceeded to introduce the defining fact about Aesop's new hair care range: they had eliminated unnecessary chemicals that are redundant or harmful to the scalp, and added new ingredients to nourish and cleanse the scalp without stripping the hair of its natural protective oils.

The new range is made up of six shampoos and four conditioners. The products exuded natural, invigorating scents (and yes, we smelled every product in the range and totally love it) which make you feel like you've created your own home spa therapy chamber.

Santos then consulted us individually to recommend the best combination of shampoo and conditioner for our scalp and hair - you'll have to be completely honest about your scalp and hair (like, if you have dandruff) or the products may not work efficiently for you. After she recommended the suitable shampoos and conditioners for us, we tested the products on our skin to witness how moisturized and soothed it left our skin feeling after washing it off.

Other hair care products: The Violet Leaf Hair Balm shapes, softens and volumizes unmanageable hair; The Rose Hair & Scalp Moisturising Masque hydrates and moisturizes the hair and scalp; The Sage & Cedar Scalp Treatment is a pre-shampoo treatment for dry, itchy and flaky scalps.

We know how harsh some shampoos and conditioners can be, especially for those with sensitive scalps and/or damaged hair. So if your hair needs a change in mane products, the Black Label range will be your best step forward.

Aesop's Black Label hair care range is now available at all Aesop counters in Malaysia. For more information please visit Aesop.com or head to your nearest Aesop counter to touch, see and smell the products!
