Last week, a model was on a red-eye flight to New York and was seated next to a married conservative Christian actor, Brian Presley. Melissa Stetten decided to live tweet Presley's conversation with her, which went viral almost immediately. It would appear that Presley was attempting to pick her up.
Now, he's denying anything of the sort. The married father of two posted on Facebook:
"I love that I took a red eye flight to NY, had a 10 minute friendly conversation with the person sitting next to me, had some food, and went to sleep!"
"I learned today this person has been tweeting about me drinking beer in the airplane bathroom, and trying to commit adultery with her on the airplane. Really absurd and quite funny! ... They Even took pictures of me while I was sleeping. A little WIERD! I was on a soap opera for years and never did the writers write something this good:)."
"None of what this person said happened is true! I guess in today's age you have to be careful who you say hello too.
"Sobriety, God, & My Family are the most important things in my life! My Wife Rocks, My Kids Rock, and Sobriety Rocks!!! I will pay this no more attention and I encourage all of you to do the same. God Bless all of you and thank you all for all your support! - Brian"
So is Stetten lying? Did she misconstrue a friendly conversation as an attempt to hit on her? Moral of the story is don't talk to strangers. They may just live tweet your every word to their thousands of Twitter followers. And one of you will end up having to lie about something. Just saying.
