At just 6-years-old, Liu Ming Ying has already had to deal with a lot of hardship during her short life. The precocious kid was born with a rare condition which causes coarse black fur to grow, covering more than 60% of her tiny body.
While there's no official explanation for Liu’s condition, the closest to describing it is known as Hypertrichosis Universalis, which leaves sufferers covered entirely in body hair and affects just one in a billion people.
Ming Ying's condition eventually led to her parents abandoning her at a nursery. It took six months before relatives came forward to claim her. She's now said to be living with a guardian in southwest China's Guizhou province.
