There's a great amount of chatter going on about this horribly-airbrushed ad by Ralph Lauren. In case you don't notice it, her lower body has been squashed into an unreasonably skinny puppet:

BoingBoing had first noticed the ad, commenting: "Dude, her head's bigger than her pelvis."

But instead of addressing the [very accurate] criticism, Ralph Lauren responded by accusing Boing Boing of copyright infringement for reprinting the ad. But really, that failed, because it's not an infringement if the content is reproduced for purposes like criticism, comment, or news reporting.

In case you're wondering, the poor model who has been crushed into one of Ralph Lauren's spindly creatures is 23-year-old French-Swedish model Filippa Hamilton. She's actually a Ralph Lauren favourite.

Anyway, Ralph Lauren shouldn't put so much effort into crafting cease-and-desist letters, but rather a lot more into the quality of its post-production.
