The First Lady of France seems to be at her happiest when she strolls the streets of Paris, in disguise.

Carla Bruni adapts a "funny voice" to avoid being spotted and slaps on some dark glasses. Bruni, as the third wide of President Nicolas Sarkozy says her life is quite impossible for "normal" behaviour, resulting in her taking these extraordinary measures.

However, those who have heard the "funny voice" of the model-turned-singer say it's "funny and quite different to anything you normally hear."

A source in the French capital says that the voice is "melodramatic and faintly ridiculous," adding that "Carla is a first and foremost an artist and loves performing. Making everybody think she is someone else while she does her shopping appeals to her sense of mischief."
