Katherine Gustafson's designs for the History of Garden Fragments in Terrasson, France are some of the most spectacular contemporary examples of contrasting water movements. Her design creates a calming symphony as water cascades over stone steps and splashes against brick. Greenacre Park in Manhattan's Upper East Side, also enchants visitors with a thunderous roar of water that erupts from a 25-foot-high wall and drowns out the noise of nearby street traffic. The garden acts as a natural haven and brings peace to a hectic, pulsing city.
