In a fashion first, British global high street retailer Topshop is set to team up with Facebook to let fashionistas from around the world choose every aspect from the looks that will debut at the Topshop Unique SS13 show. Below is a summary of what's to come:
On Sunday 16th September, 3pm GMT, viewers will be able to completely customize their livestream catwalk experience, from picking browsing color options for clothes and accessories in real-time, switching the music, downloading the show soundtrack from iTunes, and even snap screenshots to share instantly on Facebook (which was developed with in-house Facebook engineers).
Besides the main site, the livestream will also be broadcasted on Facebook, large screens at its Oxford Circus flagship in London, the websites of 200+ media partners and pinned to the top of its Twitter page, but all the extras mentioned above will only be available on Topshop.com. The experience has also been optimized for desktop viewing, meaning that mobile viewers may prefer to watch the livestream through Twitter.
Shopping is also part and parcel of the experience: Makeup purchases will arrive within 48 hours in the 100+ markets Topshop.com ships to, while clothes and accessories will ship in six to eight weeks which is well ahead of the official arrival in stores (January 2013). It's the perfect solution for fashion-forward fashionistas!
