Hermès is a bit of a fashion arson. Why? It torches its own products behind the scenes. If they don't find it to be perfect that is.

As Fashionista noted, Mulberry's Emma Hill says Hermès disposes of any imperfect bags by burning them. Such high quality. No such thing as throwing them in one section for cheap. Hill told the Telegraph:
"A friend who was working at Hermès said that if there was even the most minor imperfection on a bag they would take it out the back and burn it -- no compromise."
But could it be part of a corporate policy every fashion house adopts? We hope not. A source says that Alexander Wang may have done the same too. Years ago, when tweaking the design of the trademark Rocco bag, the company decided to discontinue all versions without a shoulder strap, leaving hundreds of strapless Rocco bags sitting in the warehouse. So, go figure. It was all up in flames.

May they find peace in purse heaven!
