Marc Jacobs didn't want to "wear a tuxedo and be boring" so he decided to attend the Met Gala in a black lace shirt-dress, wearing a pair of stark white boxers and pilgrim-buckle shoes from his latest collection. He described the Commes des Garcons tunic as 'just a lace dress'.
