This Faroe Islands Education Center will serve as a mega-school on Denmark's self-governing archipelago midway between Iceland and Norway, and is set to be completed in 2014.
Designed by Danish-origin architect Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the 205,000 sq ft building is meant to be shaped like "a vortex, radiating out towards its surroundings," with five p-shaped stories stacked loop over loop finished with a protrusion that provide each level with unique views of the surrounding mountains or nearby harbor.

This modern family house by Blanco Architecten was built to cater to the elderly residents inside. The single storey home is also adapted to wheelchair use. As for the unconventional roof angles, these are directed towards the middle of the house which is where a secret patio is located.
